Dad's 56th Birthday!

My Dad's birthday was a beautiful day and the first one in the summer that I had gotten to experience and really feel like I was getting to have any summer. It was July 25th and the weather was hot! My Mom had purchased an inflatable wading pool with awesome water features and for us older kids a slip'n slide which I totally took advantage of and of which Greg, Padon and I had a great time playing with.

Walter and I changed the kids into their swim suits and Padon really enjoyed the wading pool. Sophia was caught off guard by the cold water and the water shoots, sometimes catching her in the face.
She wasn't quite sure what to make of it and whether she wanted to cry so we pulled out the inflatable boat and filled it with warm water to be a baby wading pool, away from splashing toddlers.
It worked great and Sophia really enjoyed leaning out and grabbing the grass, a sensation very fascinating for her.

Walter was pleased that I was excited about the summery day and just relaxingly watched the kids, drank the good beers, and himself had a good time.
When it came time to take off our bathing suits I realized I had the perfect chance to get those delicious naked baby pictures that all mothers love of their babies. The day was so nice and the colors so pretty. Jane and I both snapped a lot of adorable pictures of Sophia and I am so pleased to have captured the deliciousness of Sophia's chubby baby body; something so innocent, pure and adorable.

After the pictures I put Sophia in a dress given to her by my Aunt Mildred and one I thought I would save for the 4th of July but that instead saved for this special day. I'm so glad that she got to wear it because she was already almost too big for it. She looked so cute in it and it's matching undershorts.
I think everyone had a nice day and Roadie was so well behaved. Later I saw this fantastic picture that Jane took of her. What a great picture!
